Is Hillary Clinton Not Electable Because She's Female?

Okay, in this day and age, that question should be absolutely ridiculous. There have been many other countries on this planet whose leaders have been women. But, we still get the question: "Is Hillary Clinton electable?" The news media claims it means can she carry Midwest states. What? Is there something sexist about Midwest states? Do conservative values mean women are to be kept out of public office? What exactly are they saying about the Midwest states? Gosh, I hope they're not suggesting the Midwest states would look down on her simply because she's female.
