Plan B Is Not The Morning After Pill

Today, December 6, 2006, Plan B, a contraceptive said to be an "over the counter morning after pill" was finally available to the general public through local pharmacies. There are differences between Plan B and RU-486, the abortion pill. The biggest difference is that it supposedly has no effect on pregnant women. Instead, it is said to lower the risk of pregnancy for people who engage in unprotected sex by 89%, if taken within 72 hours of the event. One can still take this pill and not be told one is administering an abortion.

This is a major victory for women in America. Reproductive rights should not be delegated by men in office who will never risk getting pregnant due to their biology.
