Sacred Ground For A Woman's Chapel

I just finished reading the December issue of Real Simple. Imagine my surprise to find an entire article on one woman's commitment to build a sacred space in her backyard. I didn't expect to see this article there, in a budgeting magazine. It seemed a bit out of place, but I was glad I found it. The woman talked about her need to have some area where she could worship the Virgin Mary. She was a Latina.

The Virgin Mary is very big in Latin American countries, particularly Mexico. As the story goes, Christianity was having a heck of a time getting established in the South American are of Mexico because of the area's long history of the worship of the Divine Feminine. It was only after the Virgin Mary appeared to Juan Diego and provided a miracle was a chapel built for her and the land converted through her ministry. Interesting, story.

Well, this woman has gone back to her roots. She has created a beautiful chapel in her backyard complete with an image of the Virgin Mary. What an interesting way to honor the Divine Feminine.
